Victory - Bond

Just came out from an Exciting Weekend Leadership Seminar. The speaker was Mats Holmberg, a dynamic, funny but very influential Diamond from Sweden.

One of the statement he mentioned is that we need to have our Diamond song that signifies our Freedom. And this song came into my mind. I knew the name is "Victory" but I didn't know which music group / orchestra it belongs too. I asked Ida was was seated next to me. She knew the song as well but couldn't recall band's same. Somehow she sms her daughter and in a few minutes she told me that it was a group called "Bond".

So when I got back home (while still excited about the motivational seminar), I google the name and here I got it. Wasn't the music awesome. I have searching it for sometimes now and here I got it.

So why not we appreciate this Freedom music of mine. And thanks to Ida for helping me out.

It was a Fabulous and Exciting event of the year we had last weekend. We don't celebrate people who achieved their success everyday. So recently when our business associate achieved a higher pin level, we have to have a celebration equivalent to their success. And there goes the well planned event of the year.

The Committee, comprises of people who love both these couples, took their time and painstaking organized the function to the minute details. And you can see below how organized and well-planned the event was - although all of us are amateurs events planners.

These mini survivors @ dancers comprised of : Aida, Diyana, Mimi, Xinnie and Sabrina had only practice about a week - starting from 2nd day of Raya. They performed extremely well. I didn't know Mimi loves to dance until this event. At least she's enjoying it.

X2O3 Challenge Camp in Pantai Remis

Wow what a day I've been thru'! After many years of not going through any hard training camp - so last Saturday we had one in Warisan Sembilang Training Centre in Pantai Remis- somewhere after Pekan Kapar.

Yes we had been warned to exercise a bit and take lots of Double X supplement before we go. In fact this is a challenge for people who could move Double X - one of Nutrilite best supplement.

There's lots of fun and excitement plus lots of scary obstacles we had to go thru' out the whole day.

Ayu & Tahir got a ride with me as I was driving alone there. To me, they might as well get a ride from me instead of them driving alone too. We shoot off from my place about 7.45am and arrived at the Camp about an hour later.

The out of towners were already there and some of them came as early as 3 am by bus from Singapore and Penang. After registration, there were briefings and grouping of teams. Most of my team members are my downlines.

We started by warming up first and that's fine with me. Randy was out facilitator as he has gone through all the games / obstacles before.

The whole program were divided into 3 bands and each band consist of 4~5 obstacles/games. We were given 18 minutes for each games to complete and 20 points will be deducted for each participant not completing each obstacle.

We started off by briefing by the chief coordinator, Fathiah. We were divided into teams and we were group in Team C, which we later named it as "Team Cheetah" - the strong animal on the prowl. Later there was a warming up session headed by Zainal & Bridgette from Singapore.

The First Band - River Crossing, Vietnam Bridge & Blind fold

The first obstacle was cross the river. We were given safety jacket each - just in case we submerge in the water. Of course we have to put our strategy in place so that everybody can completed each mission within the 18 minutes.

The Vietnam Bridge crossing looks easy until you get onto rope. Got to balance yourself or else you'll be down in the river. Another strategy have to be put in place.

Another one was the Blind folded game. Each of us were blind folded with only the team leader giving the instruction. Thus you have to reach out to the person in front of you and not letting him go or else ....

After we completed the first band, we were thrilled. We still have some energy left. But gosh there are two more bands to go. We break for shower first since the we have completed the first band but the team ahead of us had not completed theirs.

The Second Band - Repelling, Abseiling, Flying Fox, Climbing & Commando Crawl and Spider Web.

I think the most challenging part is the climbing the Container and the Commando Crawl.As our team consist of women and men, in different sizes and weight, the challenge is who is going to push who to the top. To be on the safe side, I already warned the ladies that we have to push their butts up and got to pull them on top of the container so that it's easier for them. Well who cares whose butts you got to push when you want to completed the obstacle in time right!

The Commando Crawl. Yang ni senang sikit.

This Spider Web obstacle is a bit unique to me. We were given a number of holes to get thru'. Some big holes but most of them are small. Thus we have to strategies who to go thru' first and also which holes they should go thru'. Tapi ada lak yang nak memilih lubang mana nak pergi. Of course me being the most senior guy would shout: " Woi cepat lah. Jangan nak memilih lak." So cepat lah sikit cause I want them to decide fast.

The Flying Fox was a jiffy but the challenge is to climb the three story tower. After the many obstacles we have done...aduih.. now our muscles are aching already.

The Abseiling and Repelling was ok with me. The instructor taught us the method of lowering ourself down. So no big deal for me .. cewah!

The Third Band - Telematches : Gunny sack run, Brick Walk, Seek Candy in Flour, Four Legged Run, Ball Throwing & Paperdoll

This is the fun part too. The telematches were more hilarious than the obstacle races. The funniest part was the Paperdoll. Faisal who were forced volunteer to be the macho man for the team, little that he know that he'll be the victim as the paperdoll.

The telematches were the last band. We were then grouped again for the last briefing of the day. After all the deliberations and fire fighters (Bomba) were ready to shoot water on us.

After a long hot day and now getting drained out of energy, a cool shower from the fire fighter was a relief.

We were all wet but it's nice to be cool after a long hot sessions.

The program was almost complete by 6.00pm. We were drenched wet and it's time for a proper shower and Asar prayers. The barbecue and camp fire starts at 7.00pm.

At the camp fire prizes were given to the winners for each band and the overall winners. Well our team didn't win any but I was glad that I join this camp. What more important is what we have learn from the things we did : the team work, leadership skill, overcoming your fears, and have fun along the way.

We left Pantai Remis about 9.00pm and reach home by 10.00pm. By then I was damn tired and my muscles are already aching. Ouch sakit lah badan!

I will survive in whatever circumstances!

Look at this picture that I took when I was in JB a couple of weeks ago. While waiting for the rain to stop, I saw these people came out from the mosque to return home from prayers. So what's the catch? Well maybe to you it is of none significant but it is to me.



You see the rain didn't show any sign of stopping within the next 20 minutes or so and I guess these 3 people a grandfather, a father and his daugther can't wait long to get back home for whatever reason so ever. So instead of waiting, they brave the rain using a piece of long plastic banner to cover themselves.

So you might think it is a stupid thing to do right? Why don't they wait for the rain to stop and start walking to their destination, right? But what do you know what are in their mind?

To me there are lots of significant. Firstly, I supposed they have to go somewhere for a reason. Maybe they have to get back home or where ever they want to go. Probably they got to be at their destination at certain time and waiting for the rain would certainly delay their schedule.

So the next thing to do is to think the best way to get to their destination. Probably they don't have a car. And probably they saw a unused plastic banner lying around and ideas came to use it as a cover.

More strategically, with three of them together, they can hold it together to move along synchronically forward. The shorter one in front and at the back whilst the tallest one in the middle. Thus it look like a moving tent.

Yeah for sure they get a bit wet but then again it's better then waiting for the rain to stop rather than missing the time or destination that they are heading for. But at the end, I guess they will get where they want to be.

Thus we can always relate this scenario in life. In life, they are so many things that we want to have, to go, to become, etc., etc. While pursuing to get our Dreams or Goals, we were sometime face obstacles and situation that holds us back. Most of us will taken aback when something came and disrupt our situation: maybe some family matters, work stress, relationship problems, health challenges. So if any of this situation arise, what do we do? Do we fall down and wait and wish for good things to happen us. Or do we get up and continue our journey to get to our Dreams and Objectives. Or do we find other ways and means to resolve those issues. What ever it is, are we doing something about it?

After hearing, Tracy Hutchins in the last Convention with her life's theme song "I WILL SURVIVE", I suddenly thought of this there people braving the rain. Yes they have lots to do about being significant and survive!

Reviving the Dream!

August 2007 Weekend Leadership Seminar

Last weekend I attended the Quarterly held seminar in Cheras. I always look forward to attend this quarterly-held National Convention - purely to revive my Dreams in building this business - as at times it fades slowly.

The guests speakers were Diamond Directs Martin & Tracy Hutchins from South Africa. They were awesome speakers and they related their journey to Financial Freedom.

There 3 days session were full of ideas, experience, information, knowledge, etc. etc. Of course there were also local speakers to do some openings and the in-between sessions. Different speakers gave different perspectives and visions.

I managed to write some notes (as the MC reminded us to do so & and so that I won't felt asleep hehehee..). Yeah, I got lots of notes. If I were to write here all the notes that I got, it would have filled at least 10 pages. But more importantly, I jotted down what intrigued my mind most by each speaker.

1. Emerald Direct Nahu (an engineer from Penang)

We often heard of S.M.A.R.T goals i.e. :
S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Achievable
R = Realistic
T = Time

But interestingly, Nahu add it as S.M.A.R.T.E.R goal, which adds :
E = Excitement
R = Rewards,

which means that we need to be excited with our goals and attach a personal reward when we achieve it. And that makes sense to me.

2. Diamonds Direct Fathiah

Fathiah as usual shared the many books that she have read. She had recently finished a thick book by Jack Canfield - The Success Principles. Yes, lots of things that I got from her speech I tell you.

I don't know how fast I can read the thick book, but listening to Fathiah's perspective, she reveals lots of secrets in it.



Some of the notes that I wrote down :

Jack Canfield : "Believing is Seeing" instead of "Seeing is Believing" what is simply mean is that you got to have belief in you before you do it.

"In order for things to change, you rather see it to be than what they are now." It means that we have to visualise how can things be for us in the future than we are now".

"Heart-set desire vs Mind-set". When we have a heart-set desire, it gives us the emotional part of the feeling. Heart-set desire give stronger emotional feeling that drive a person to get what they want in life."

3. Executive Diamond Simon Thompson

Simon was the speaker during the Builders Meetings. This meeting is meant for those who want to start the business. And as for us the "old timers" it meant to be a reminder hahaha..

4. Diamond Direct Tracy & Martin Hutchins

Although they have some accent of the South Afrikaans , I managed to understand. They were hilarious at times. Each of them were brought up by a single-parent and it a second marriage for both them. They had a conventional business and were once arrogant when someone showed them this business. Now they are financially free.

Tracy's favourite song since she was a child till now is "I will survive". Every time she was done and out, she remember this song. "I will survive in whatever circumstances!" To me that's very powerful.

One of thing that Martin's mentioned was the jigsaw puzzle story." It simply means that we have to picture what we want before we set what we have to do to get it by putting the puzzle together." "If you stop dreaming, you stop living." Wow ... that's something that intrigued my mind!

Besides this seminar, there were other Line of sponsorship-managed events, one of which was the Dream team challenged. Peter & Petulia's team "Dreamworks" won the 2nd runner-up in the open category. I am proud of them. With their dedication and continuous work has resulted their winning. Congratulations Dreamworks.

While backstage before the leaders parade, I saw Shima & Syed busy discussing their scripts as they were the MC for the Saturday session. They were superb being MC. Well done Syed & Shima .... keep being the MC .. so we don't have to be one hahaha..

Overall this Weekend Seminar do trigger my passion for this business. Lots of mind boggling ideas and things that triggered my mind. Yes "I will survive in this business no matter what the circumstances" I am in because I have already had a "heart-set" desire.

Although I was also alone this time around because my beloved Ky was experiencing unpredictable health challenges, I never regret it. So much that she wanted to be with me at the seminar, I told her not to come. Sitting in the seminars for hours during the weekend can be stressful and strenuous for her health. However I updated her on it. It's ok sayang, we will survive ok.

How many times do you spend times with people who have interest in you: in business, your well being, your future, your family, etc. ? Not many right? Or another question : how many people do care for your well being, now and future? Not many right?

Well, Ky & I were blessed to know this couple who makes difference in our lives. It's Zul & Fathiah. This couple have been helping us in our business and personal life. They are our business partners cum mentors cum friends cum coach, etc. Not many people who take interest in you, right? In the office, your bosses have only interest in you so that you perform and achieve the Company's objective. After 5.30 pm, they don't care what will happen to you until the next morning when you punch in again. The bosses don't care what happen to your family and kids. Neither would they care what your future will be.

Unlike the bosses, this couple would help us to achieve our goals and dreams. They don't have to be with us but they have chosen us to be part of their life. They will help us succeed so that they'll too will succeed.

Zul reminded me about some planning matters in our business last week. So this week I was slightly free and thus I drove over to their place, which is a luxury banglo in Section 8 Shah Alam.

Zul started explaining to me about an excel worksheet which was introduced recently. It comprises of detail information and planning for our business. It also entails what can we expect in the business if the planning and work is done right.

As for me, although I was not 100% active in the business (due to some reasons) but I plan to jump back again. Thus this is a good jump start for me. Zul & Fathiah also talked to me on family matters. It's a good and refreshing to listen to someone who is financially independent and knows what they are doing. We even have lunch together.

How much do you have to pay to sit down and have lunch with Financially Independent people? I heard recently in radio that if you were to sit down for dinner with Warren Buffet, you have to pay something like RM2.0 million. But Warren Buffet won't make you rich either. Well, with Zul & Fathiah, the price is simple i.e. "you being a good student, listen and follow their advice, have big dreams and work it out". You want to be within the space of people who love to give their best for you.

May 2007 Weekend Leadership Seminar

"You got to attend every Weekend Leadership Seminar if you want to survive in this business". Well that was what the leadership in the business said. "It's like a car need some petrol for you to move one!" They were right. That's why Ky and I never failed to attend this major function held every quarterly.

So we attended this May 2007 Weekend Leadership Seminar in Menara PGRM, Cheras. In fact we have bought these tickets 3 months back in February 2007. The guest speaker is Diamond Direct Pat MacDonald from Edmonton, Canada. A very choleric but hilarious speaker. He is one of the best speaker in the N21 circle.


His story started on his encounter in the business 28 years ago. Like everyone, he was very negative about it but circumstance changed him. Now he has businesses all over the world and now reaping his fruit of labour for more than 20 years now. It's all about TIME, MONEY and FAMILY. No doubt we will need the all 3 when the time comes. Believe me, we will need all these 3 sometime in our life.

Besides Pat MacD, there were several other speakers: Founders Emerald Direct Stephen Chin, Diamond Direct Fathiah, Exec Diamond Direct Simon Thompson.

Stephen, who did the opening act, spoke why should we choose this business. As an Editor of the Investment Magazine, he has the authority to speak on this matter. He mentioned about where should one invest their money. If there's no money to invest, the next best thing is investing our time. That's where networking comes in. He also compared this Networking business with others and obviously, this is the best.

Fathiah spoke in the LC Meeting. She spoke on the "AFFIRMATION" and Law of Attraction. Well we have to be positive and knows what we want and eventually the positive wave length will attract people or things we want to meet and have. She spoke based on the book about "The Power of your Sub-Concious Mind"

Simon spoke about going 21% from LC in the Builders Meeting. It's just the simple steps that we have to make. Simon makes it so simple for people to understand the concept.


Of course there were othes filler speakers and recognition that filled up the whole 3 session from Friday to Sunday. It good to listen to speakers who have moved up and grow in the business.

I took heaps of notes from what I listen from all these speakers. I jotted down things that make me ponder and that put some sense into my brain. I was also glad that Ky can make it in all of the session despite of her condition.



The Seminar ended on Sunday. In the last session, Pat McD edified all the Malaysian, Singapore & Brunei leaders and invited them on stage. I did managed to snap the view from stage and felt how elated it was being applauded by the audience.


Immediately after the seminar, we left as I have to send Aizuddin back to his hostel in Sungai Besar.

Looking forward for another Weekend Leadership Seminar in August 2007. Cheers!

Another Weekend

I always look for weekends. That's when I don't have to rush for works. However each weekends took place differently each week.

Saturday

Tonite I have a Business Building Seminar with guest speaker from Sweden - Diamond Directs Mats Holmberg. On the way to KGPA, I sent Ky, Mimi and Acik to Ijah's house. They wanted to watch Akademi Fantasia together. So we left home slightly after 6.30pm and reached Kota Damansara slightly after 7.00pm. After dropping them off, I went straight to KGPA.

Mats Holmberg is a very exciting young guy who achieved his Diamondship before age of 30. Good speaker. This is the second time he is here. He got some international partnership here in Malaysia and we were told that he is spreading his business here in Asia.

The KGPA hall was unusually packed by old and new IBOs. People who are researching the business add to the number. Had to get more seats for the attendees.

It finished at 11.00pm and after meeting the group, I left. Went to fetch Ky and the kids. Acik was already sleeping - he's an early sleeper. Mimi insisted to that I wait till Aznil announced the next person to be kicked out from AF. It was Aizat. I didn't care much about AF since I didn't follow it anyway. Got home about 12.30pm.

Sunday

Ky have reminded me about the Kelas Tasfir Quran by Ustaz Abdullah Yassin. She has been attending the class whenever she can. Usually it's on Monday morning. But this around she said that, the Ustaz is doing a Sunday class on Sunday to cater the working people. She insisted that the class will be held in Menara Marinara in one of the surau.


She has been promoting this class to verybody she knew who would be interested. Kak Harrison tagged along with us. We left home by 9.30am. Reached Menara Marinara about 10.00am but this building seemed to be deserted. Except for a couple of security guards, nobody was there. We went to the parking area hoping to see cars parked there to make sure it's the right place and day! No one seems to be around.

Asked Ky to call Ustaz but she was unable to get to him. Ky also called few other people but they were unaware of this class. But 10.30am my patience is being tested. So I decided to drive back home. Ky apologizing for the whole thing.

Anyway we got home before 11.00am. Ky invited Kak Harison for breakfast - ubi rebus & sambal ikan bilis- it was good man! They chatted till about 12.00pm.

I got to relax watching TV at home. Need a nice break.

Satisfaction

I haven't had this feeling of satisfaction in the business for quite sometimes. There were times when things didn't turned up as you expected it would be. You showed business plans to people whom you thought would want this business more than you do but somehow they are the people who least wants it. Forget about the big dreams and reasons for awhile. How could I get to the dreams when I couldn't even sponsor some people yet.

So today when I signed up 2 people in my new pipelines, I felt on top of the world. It's because I have not signed up anybody for ages. So lately I put up the courage and enthusiasm to show plans to some people I know in the office. And walla, 3 people signed up in my new pipeline this month alone.

One as a user, one a sceptical whether it works or not but signed up anyway and another one a bachelor who wants to be a builder. Ha ... I didn't expect the bachelor want to be a builder. Well if he does, I will teach him how to. No problem. As long as he is "teacheable".

Being teacheable (senang di ajar) is better than a genius with big ego and who doesn't want to listen to other people who are more successful.

Well I have a goal for this 18th~20th May Weekend Leadership Seminar. I want to bring at least 10+ new people to the WLS. I want to have a bigger business and by bringing more people to this May WLS, hopefully they will get a bigger vision of how big this business can be for them as well. Hopefully they too can change their life one day. And they will thank you for showing them the business. Insyaallah.

What Matters Most To You?

Last night was the Success Seminar at PGRM. The Leaders meeting started at 6pm but I was slightly late. Arrived about 6.20 pm. Crown Direct Bob Andrew was already speaking at that time. He is very inspiring as usual. A leader who I assume is very simple communicator but did send his message across.
General session started on time at 8pm. As usual the Emeralds and Diamond did the usual Leaders parade. I was alone because Ky unfortunately won’t be able to attend due to her condition.
The MC was the night was Emerald Direct Swarupini, excellent MC as usual. Bob kick-off the seminar with his speech on the business. I picked up a few points.
Ø This business is not for everybody.
Ø We have a business for people who are looking for it!
Ø We are in people business
Ø It's about growing a person.
Bob later introduced his wife, Terry. She such a “Sanguine” lady with full of energy and having fun on stage. She enjoyed herself building the business. There are financially independent for the last 30 long years. They have been enjoying their life to the fullest.
What impacted me most that night when Ivan and Cassandra from Singapore who were recognized as New Emerald. They were relating their story about Ivan being so 100% negative and did not want to build the business. Cassandra was quite open but was skeptical if the business would work for her. Their first Weekend Leadership Seminar in 2003 was horrifying. Cassandra was admitted into a hospital with high fever. Their car was stolen. It cost them S$140,000 for a weekend seminar. But to them it was all worth it. They are now Emerald and had even taken both their parents for holidays in San Francisco.
What touches deep inside my heart was when Ivan was relating a story from a book. I can’t remember the title but Simon Thompson had once mentioned it during one of the Depth Team Meeting. Ivan read a passage from the book. It’s about “What matter most to you”. He was relating about a father was lost a son in an accident. Unfortunately, a day before the accident the father did not spent time with his son even though the son asked for it. The father was too busy with other things and did not even care much about the son. The father regrets so much but it was too late. He can’t buy back time. Regret won’t buy the love he lost for his son. It’s was very touching story.
Then I thought to myself.. “WHAT MATTER MOST TO ME?” I don’t know about you but what matter most to me is my family i.e. my 4 Children, my beloved Wife, my Mom and siblings. I am building this business for people I love, people I care and matter most to me. They are people who matters a lot to me. Not the people who don’t want this business. Nor people who are negative and people who kills other people dreams.
Thanks Ivan for bringing up this matter because this matter really hit deep right inside me!

In the space of people you love to be with..

I was browsing my Gmail inbox and saw that I got an email from Zul uptowndreamers. Attached were photographs taken when we had a party at Fathiah & Zul's new banglo at section 8, Shah Alam. The pics were great i.e. by using Zul's small compact digital camera.

That's was on Tuesday 20 March 2007. Why we had that party? Well it was Fathiah's idea of having fun in the business and also achieving the challenge given to the team i.e. show 16 plans, 600PV and pacestter. The special guest was our dearet business partner Roshni Abd Aziz. She now resides in Melbourne Australia with Abel and their kids, Raoul & Serene. Roshni is here for about a month and thus she makes use of her time building her business here and having fun too.

I arrived slightly after 8pm and there were a few of the networkers arrived already preparing the food. It's kind of potluck.. I didn't bring anything haha.. Petulia was preparing her pink-fruity punch drink. Sam & Heng and their daughter, 21 and son 10, were already there. They are from Vietnam. They were preparing their Vietnamese specialty spring roll with salad. It tasted good. Aina and her group were already there.

More food came later. Ming & Mew brought their Nasi Beriyani (from Idamansuri recipe), Habsah & Zaki - Mee Bandung, Ida - Rojak buah, Faisal - Cream Caramel, Zakiah & Faraby - Dalcha, and many more. Fathiah served her specialty Bread Pudding with custard sauce and her new found recipe of special-egg entree (whatever it is!). The table were then full with many kinds of delicious pot-luck food.

Ming broght his SLR Digital Camera. I took a few shots with his camera while he was busy with other things. Roshni, our special guest came slightly after 9.00pm and received a warm welcome by the networkers, whom by now has packed Fatiah's house. She was excited, warm, and of course greeted and congratulate everyone for being there.

Once everybody was settled, it's time for FOOD! I was hungry by then and have already decide which one to eat first (since I was the one who arranged the food ok and I know which one look yummy). Started with Nasi Beriyani & Dalcha and then the Vietnamese spring roll. That was delicious. Continued mee bandung and then rojak buah. By then I was full. Everybody enjoyed the food.

Managed to speak with Roshni for awhile. She was also busy entertaining the rest of the people.

By 10 something, when everybody dah kenyang, Fathiah gathered all the people in the TV room and invited Roshni to talk i.e. to give vision to us, especially to the new people. She told about her migration to Melbourne, about how she built the business there, about her family and of course her vision. She is a terrific lady and we are blessed to be part of her business and her being part of our lives. Outside it stared to rain really heavy. But it didn't matter to me cos listerning to Roshni give me hope that I can also do this business. Roshni also showed some pictured slides of her new house they just bought, pictures of Raoul & Serene (they akready grew up so tall), and many more.

Fathiah spoke how her vision on having bigger international business. Also on the opening in Vietnam. She also spoke how her "visualisation and positive thinking" had managed to lead her to more Vietnamese leads. She also spoke about a book that she recently read. On "giving and receiving". How we should say when other people complimented us for anything. Got a new perspective from her on that.

It was already past mid-night and after saying goodbye to everybody, I left about 1.00 am. Well it was a good get togther, fun, some teaching and of course bring back some new vision and perspective from peolpe who are Financially Free but with good heart. Thanks to all the people who make the night real worth to attend. You love to be within the space of people that really care. Cheers to Roshni, Fathiah & Zul.
