Pokok Pisang Pelik

Pak Teh ada sms pada pagi Sabtu lalu. Dia kata ada pisang pelik kat kebun depan rumah mak. So dia suruh bawa camera untuk gambar pokok pisang tu.

So terpaksa lah saya cari camera kat rumah. Selalu nya Mimi yg pakai camera yg baru dapat tu. Tapi bateri nya lak takde. So saya decide nak singgah kedai sebelum ke rumah mak.

Sampai jer kat rumah mak, terus lah pergi kat kebun tu carik yg mana pokok yang di kata kan pelik tu. Carik punya carik.. baru jumpa. Pokok dia tak lah besar sangat macam biasa. Cuma pokok sederhana.

Tapi bila nak ambil gambar, camera lak tak berfungsi walaupun bateri baru. Alahai lah nasib..
Anyway lepas Zuhur Zalma datang dengan family. So saya ajak lah Ika & adik pergi tengok. Ika pulak ada HP camera so dia lah yang ambil kan gambar-gambar ini.





A'ah lah.. pokok nya berbuah pelik sikit. Selalu nya pokok pisang berbuah dari hujung nya dimana pelepah daun tumbuh. Ni tak pulak. Buah nya mula bercambah dari tengah batang nya.




Dah lah tu, buah bercambah dari bawah keatas. Yakni jantung pisang nya bukan tergantung kebawah seperti biasa tapi keatas. Cuba tengok gambar bawah ni.






Walau bagaimana ini memang pelik bagi saya. Pokok pisang yang berbuah terbalik keatas dari batang pokok nya.

Tapi kalau kalau masak nanti, nak di makan ke? Mana tau kan... buah yang pelik-pelik ni mungkin ada kelebihan nya.??????

I was driving home from work last Friday. After a long day work and meeting after meetings, at last I'm going home for the weekends. Friday is a day you to look for - you are heading for weekends. It the rest days for you right? No boss, no meetings, no work - for a couple of days.

So while I was driving somewhere in USJ, while listing to one of the radio station, this song was tuned in. A melodious Japanese number. I had heard it many time before but couldn't figure out how to get this song.

And now with the internet thingy, you can get any songs you want. And I got this one from youtube. For those of you who are the "jiwang-jiwang" type, I'm sure you would love this song by Mayumi Itsuwa. Happy listening.

Kasut oh Kasut

Do you agree with me that men only need a pair of dressed shoes for work, one for sport or casual and a slipper. That's all. Not only that but they will only change it when its either worn off or get stolen. But women needs 10 pairs for each occasions. And they will buy more but only wear it once or twice. I always wonder why, why and why?

Anyway I have been wanting to buy a new pair of shoe since ages. I wanted it for a change and replace my old one which I bought easily 4 or 5 years ago. The pair that I have wearing is actually "weared off". I realized that there is a small hole at the bottom. The side had also "torn a bit". Well it was supposed to be a leather shoe but then again I realized that it was not 100% leather. Some part of it "looks like leather".

Anyway since I realized I need a pair (since many moons ago) but I just couldn't find either the right size, right pattern, right price or the right time to go for shopping.

The idea of getting a new pair of shoe was put off for a while until today. I was taking my 3 kids to Alpha Angle in Wanga Maju and in Jaya Jusco there was a sale. However not many men shoes were on sale. But there were a couple of shoes that caught my eyes.

They placed the shoes just right beside the exit escalator . I saw them when we wanted to go out. Well one thing with me is that, when I saw a nice good pair I would instantly decide to buy. What more if it give a 50% off. My oh my! That would be good deal.

Cool shoes for RM360 with a 50% discount.

From RM360 and with 50% discount, it would only cost me RM180. That a cool deal for me. So without hesistant, I request the sales person to give me a size 6 for a try. Walla.. it fit and there goes my credit card.

My new pair that would last me for the next 4 years hehehe....

So I guess I would be walking high with my new shoes this wednesday.

Lucky Number 4242

You might be wondering why I posted this tab number from Pos Malaysia. Well it is not of any significant to you but it is to me.

You see, I got this tab from the machine when I was at Pos Malaysia in Shah Alam yesterday to buy a postal order from Aizuddin. So as usual, to get into the queue I have to take a number. I wasn't actually concentrating on what number I got as I know it was a long queue. There were about 40 people ahead of me. So while waiting, Azlee, who accompanied me, and I went to browse around at a small museum corner at the post office.

While we were browsing and amusing our self at the old stamps, I was also paying attention to the numbers being called. Flipping this queue tab, I realised that my number was 4242! And you know what that 4242 is actually the registration of my car number i.e. BHR4242. What a coincident both my tab and car numbers are the same 4242.

If I were the superstitious type, I would have run to the nearest Nombor Ekor or the 4 digit shop to buy that number. Who know that will be the number that will strike the first prize.

But then again... hmmm..I'm not that kind of guy who even buy a lottery ticket to win some money. Lest the 4242 be just a number!

Traffic Summon

As I was arriving home from work about 7.30pm, there welcome me was a letter on the table. It was a registered letter and I immediately know that it's a traffic summon. Ha! now where did I speed?

I opened the letter and it stated that I had drove at 90km/hr in a 60km/hr zone at KM58 Sungai Besar Selangor on 10 September 2006. When I check at the calendar, 10 September 2006 was a Sunday so I assume it was when I was driving back after sending Along to his boarding school.

Well I am not a speed driver but when the road is good and comfortable, why not drive a bit faster. If you have been driving from Kuala Selangor towards Sabak Bernam, you must realised that they already have a good 4 lanes trunk road. This is my 5th year of plying that road since Along went to school there. From a kampong road that was bumpy, potholes and lots of slow moving traffics, it has now turned into a 4 lanes "highway". Kudos to Selangor MB, Khir Toyo who at least developed that raod which benefits him too. By the way, his house is right besides the main road in Sungai Besar.

From a 2 hrs 15 mins drive, I can now reach Sg Besar in 1 hr 45 mins straight. Now who could blame me if I were to drive a little faster in a good road. As the road have been upgraded, they should at least increase the speed lit to 90km/hr isn't it?

Anyway, with the traffic summon in hand - and at lebihan laju 30km - I was compound RM300. But they also give an offer of RM150 compound. What a deal? But now I'm looking for a lubang on how to get it much lower.. hahaha!

Go Acik Go Acik!

I was craving for soup for today's lunch. So Azlee & I drove to Sec 18 Shah Alam cos we knew there's a shop "Sup Utara" that serves good soup there. It's next to the KPP College. Got a parking next to the shop and got seats easily as there were not too many people yet.

I ordered "mixed soup", white rice and my favourite "telur masin". Azlee ordered "beef soup" with white rice. We had "teh o ais". The soup was good although it was a bit spicy - we sweat over it.

After lunch we stopped at "Gerai Pisang Goreng Azmi" at Sec 19 (near the commuter station). Azlee have to queue up for this. Pisang Goreng Azmi is well known in Shah Alam for its best goreng pisang. I can vouched for that.

Our next stop is the Dewan Volleyball Shah Alam in Sec 19 . Dropped by to see if Acik is playing there. True enough when we arrived, I saw Acik playing against Sabak Bernam team. On average, his team is shorter compared to the Sabak Bernam team, where mostly chinese guys and taller. At standard 6, the tallest spiker is in fact taller than me.

Acik saw me - not sure whether he is excited or scared heheheee.. I greeted En Yahaya, the ex-PIBG Chairman. He is the strong supporter for SK Taman Samudra team. Cikgu Yazid also saw me - but he was also concentrating on his team. Acik is the smallest kid in game - but mind you he did some tricks that gaves point to his team.

Gombak team managed to score over Sabak Bernam Team on the second game and went for rubber set. Unfortunately, they lost 15-7. But they showed true sportmanship but lost to a better exponent.

Well try again Gombak Team. You have few more games to go!

Ijok's By Election

I was driving Along back to his boarding school to Sg Besar. Approaching Ijok, we saw a road block by police, checking all cars entering Ijok. Luckily I wasn't speeding but was about to overtake a slow car in front of me. Approaching Ijok, lots and lots of banners, flyers, flags, buntings hanging all over Ijok. This unusual scene is due to the upcoming by-election on 28 April 2007.

I wanted to avoid the traffic jam and turned left at the traffic light using the Ijok ~ Batang Berjuntai route. Unfortunately, less than 200 meter from the junction, it was jammed. Not only packed with cars and people but there was road construction. Bull dozers, tractors and lorries occupied half the road. What the heck these people are doing it now? Yeah I know Sammy Vellu have to served the Ijok community by building new road but why now?

About 3 kilometers away from the first road construction, there was another one. This time they are widening the road. The jammed this time was worst than the first one. The slow moving traffic was about 20 mins. Worst still there was an Barisan Nasional gathering with VIPs motorcade passing by and the traffic stood still. Traffic police wasn't help much either. Traffic was ok once we passed Batang Berjuntai juntion towards Tanjung Karang inner road.

On the way back to KL, I decided to take the Kuala Selangor road towards Ijok thinking that the earlier road I took would be bad. Was I totally wrong! This route is worst than the first one. The traffic jam started about 5 km away before Ijok town. Motorist by then we overtaking each other. From one lane, it turned to 2 now. I was surprise that the traffic police, which were many of them there, didn't help much. Added salt to the wound, there was a Pasar Malam in town. I only managed to get out of this traffic jam after 1 hour by 7.30pm. I wish the traffic police can do more to ease the traffic jam.

My view:

1. If the Sammy Vellu wanted to show how the Government cares for the people, please have the road done at anytime of the year and not only during election time. I have been plying these road for more than 4 years now and nothing much had happen until this week.

2. To the traffic Police, please do what you are supposed to do - get your priorities right!. Easy the traffic congestion and not just hanging in the middles of the road! Those who cut queue should be summoned eventhough they are VIPs cars! Once somebody starts to cut queue, others will follow.
